Wedding Dress Shopping Pt1

Wedding Dress

Congratulations your engaged!

When you start shopping for your wedding dress give yourself ample time to plan. Generally the rule of thumb is that you need to order your gown at least six months before your wedding. So ideally you should start shopping for your gown nine months or more before your wedding.

1) Decide on the date of your wedding. It might be difficult to just generate a date from thin air, but break it down. Think about what year you and your partner would like to get married and in what month. Look into the availability of venues for the actual day for your ceremony. Agree on the date/ month with your partner and work towards it. Keep the date in your mind.

2) Think about how much you want to spend on your wedding, but be realistic. Wedding dresses can start from under two hundred pounds and go up to thousands. It all depends on what you can afford.

*When shopping for your wedding dress tell the sales person your price range.

[DO NOT waste time by trying on dresses you know you cant afford. Your dress should correlate directly with your overall budget for the event, the rule of thumb ranges anywhere between 5-10%]

3) Think about the style of your wedding (formal, semi-formal) location of ceremony and reception sites. These factors can dictate what type of dress you will need.

4) Make an appointment to see a specialist sales assistant. This will ensure tht you will be seen and given the time needed to make your choice.

  • Try on dresses that suit your body type.
  • Choose something that is also comfortable.
  • You should feel confident and beautiful in your dress.

5) Shop around and compare prices. Visit a few outlets before making a final decision.

6) There is a very good chance that there will be more than one that you love, if you are patient one of these will certainly be in your budget.

7) Make sure you take one or two people with you who can be objective and trustworthy.

8) When you place your order make sure the retailer knows the date of your wedding. This will help them know when is the latest that you absolutely need your dress.

[Before you put down a deposit, make sure you understand their return policies, gurantees and refund policies]

Happy Shopping!!!
